Will You Be Joining Us?

From Monday, May 21st through Wednesday, May 23rd of 2018, Information Management Network—more commonly known as IMN—will hold its 6th Annual Single Family Rental Investment Forum (East). The conference will bring together industry leaders and key market participants to discuss a number of topics concerning single-family rental (SFR) properties with hopes to inspire growth and productivity among those who invest in or provide services for them.

Over the course of two and a half days, IMN Single-Family Rental Investment Forum (East) will see REITs, aggregators, fix-and-flippers, note buyers, bankers, brokers, direct lenders, property managers, single-family owners and investors, property analysts, and others converge on sunny Miami, Florida to meet, mingle, discuss, and debate.

Dozens of sponsors, including  5 Arch, will contribute to the forum, offering real estate solutions in the fields of direct lending, brokerage, property management, smart home technology, industry resources, and so much more. As a silver sponsor, 5 Arch will be in attendance to talk about our “Borrow Better” smart capital solutions designed specifically for single-family rental properties. Other sponsors include CBRE, Investability Solutions, Roofstock, VirtualKEY, Think Realty, and more.

The Draw of Single Family Rental Properties

In today’s market, single-family rental properties have become increasingly attractive to investors. In fact, SFR investments are currently the fastest-growing segment of the housing market. This makes sense when you consider that more than 60 percent of the United States’ housing stock is comprised of single-family detached homes, mostly in suburban neighborhoods.

After a burst in single-family home construction in the early 2000s, followed by the recession and subsequent foreclosure crisis, many families found themselves with a sudden need to rent, while homes that were once owned now suddenly needed occupants. Those circumstances, coupled with the fact that the millennial generation is now leading the market, it’s no surprise that suburban SFRs, in particular, are booming.

These properties are a great option for young families seeking a convenient, but more spacious location without the commitment associated with home ownership. But the appeal of single-family rentals is popular among all age groups and circumstances, from new college grads seeking flexibility before settling down to aging baby boomers who no longer want to deal with the upkeep that comes with owning their own home.

Aside from the fact that SFR investors have a wide range of tenant options to choose from, single-family rentals bring a great deal of advantages including steady cash flow, the potential for long-term appreciation, leverage, diversified exit strategies, huge tax write-offs, and more. It’s not just experienced investors in the SFR market either; these properties are easy for new real estate investors to buy and hold as well. Single-family rental properties are a great source of passive income and a fantastic addition to investors’ retirement portfolios, so it’s really no surprise that they’re such an attractive investment these days.
