On Saturday, May 19th, participants of the 3rd annual UC Irvine Anti-Cancer Challenge will gather at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, CA to walk, run, or ride their bicycles in support of cancer research.
5 Arch’s own, CEO Shawn Miller, will be there with his family and four-legged friends to walk the 5-mile route in support of the cause. Having lost his mother, grandfather, two uncles, and a cousin to cancer, this is a cause very near to Shawn’s heart. So much so that he and his wife, Marci, established the Shawn and Marci Miller Cancer Research Fund for his 50th birthday.
Their foundation will be contributing $7,500 to this year’s Anti-Cancer Challenge, and is also paying for the entry fees for all 5 Arch employees. After raising $26,580 last year, 5 Arch aims to go above and behind by setting this year’s goal to more than double that amount: $60,000. The proceeds are often combined with federal funds, meaning that 5 Arch’s team efforts could add up to more than $100,000 going directly to medical research!
If you’d like to ride or walk alongside 5 Arch in this effort toward eradicating cancer, please contact Jennifer Sarrail at email@example.com or 714-456-8553 to join the team.
If you’re outside of the Irvine area or would like to contribute to the team, you can make a tax-deductible donation online, or by mailing a check to: The Anti-Cancer Challenge; 333 The City Blvd West, Ste. 630; Orange, CA 92868.
Please make all checks payable to the UCI Foundation and include the Shawn and Marci Miller Cancer Research Fund in the memo.
5 Arch looks forward to joining forces in this movement toward a world where we can all forge ahead and leave cancer in the dust.
