5 Arch Supports Veterans at Victories of Spirit Golf Classic

5 Arch was proud to serve as a Corporate Sponsor of the Victories of Spirit Golf Classic on Thursday, September 13, 2018. The event was held at the Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine, California in support of American Family Housing (AFH) and their efforts to assist those who have served in our country’s military. All money raised from the event will help to establish new homes for chronically homeless veterans who were previously living on the streets.

Founded in 1985 with just one home and one food distribution center, AFH has since spent decades bettering the lives of homeless and low-income families in Southern California. Today, the organization houses nearly 1,000 adults and children in 63 housing sites throughout Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties. AFH’s most recent development, Potter’s Lane, is the United State’s first multi-family permanent supportive housing to use repurposed shipping containers. This innovative and sustainable housing model opens the door for affordable housing to be built quickly and meet growing demands.

Aside from providing support for basic needs before income and housing are stabilized, AFH also provides tenants with health care services, mental health counseling, employment support, and intensive case management. The organization is also committed to providing services to permanently end the cycle of homelessness, including individual and group counseling, and children’s programs.
